Privacy

The short version: we collect as little as we can, we never sell it, and you can leave the email list in one click.

If you join the email list

We store your email address, the date you joined, and which page you joined from, and use them only to send The Daily Skinny emails. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. Emails are delivered by Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES).

When you visit the site

We measure how the site is used — pages viewed, episodes played and for how long, which buttons are tapped, the kind of device, and the website that sent you — using our own first-party analytics. To connect visits from the same browser we keep a random identifier in your browser’s local storage. We don’t store your IP address. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, the identifier lasts only for that tab.

If you join the list, your past and future visits from that browser are linked to your email so we can understand what people find useful.

Advertising

We may use Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Google advertising tags to measure our ads and show ads to people who visited the site. In the UK and European Union these only load if you agree. You can also opt out in your Meta and Google ad settings.

Audio and video

Episodes play directly from our podcast host, and videos from YouTube (in privacy-enhanced mode, loaded only when you press play). Those services receive the request like any player would.

Your choices

We don’t sell personal information. To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, email thedailyskinny@strawhutmedia.com.
